Why do they call it Generated Columns and not Computed Columns like most other databases already do?
- t0astbread 7y agoI guess every column is "computed" if you think about it? It's nitpicky and I don't know the official reason though.
- PeterisP 7y agoIMHO "computed columns" generally implies columns that are computed on-demand when read, as opposed to this case when they're computed when the row is altered and persisted in the table.
- fowl2 7y agoPossibly because they're closer to "persisted calculated columns".
