I imagine Steam doesn't allow Gatekeeper bypasses. Still, notarization is designed to be easy to script: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/notarizing_your_app_before_distribution/customizing_the_notarization_workflow https://developer.apple.com/documentation/xcode/notarizing_y... - so it really shouldn't be an issue.
- judge2020 7y agoThe only issue is it can take an hour or more - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21110622 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=21110622 polling for the status to finalize would waste build minutes on your CI.
- Wevah 7y agoIn my (limited) experience, for non-GB-sized apps, the turnaround time is closer to five minutes.
- raverbashing 7y agoWell but you don't need to notarize all builds, just those that went through internal QA Split the build process so that you can click "version 1.2.3" and have it notarized (this is doable in Jenkins for example)
- wolph 7y agoMy limited experience notarizing a hello world react electron app took 10 to 15 minutes. Not that much but a large increase from the 1 minute build time before
- yjftsjthsd-h 7y agoCan you hand it off to be notarized and then end that job, and have a hook to pick up when that's done?
