They do not record back to amazon 24/7 though. I have myself watched amazon echo traffic in wireshark. It sends nothing much of the time and then sends data when you issue commands that start with “Alexa”. That’s it. They listen for the wake word 24/7 but detect that locally, and then only send short sentences to the cloud for more advanced query processing.
- pcdoodle 7y agoThis is the network behavior until it isn't. Like the top most comment, Normalization of this technology is building a prison system, someday we might regret it.
