For me the meaning of DevOps has shifted from "developers and operations working together" to "operations picking up developer tooling". As more and more administrators become familiar with the new workflow I expect them to transition from mostly relying on manual testing and scheduled drills to writing automated tests for infrastructure fail-over, backups, firewalls, etc. I'm not a big fan of YAML the format but I'll gladly put up with it for the valuable content that's encoded in those files - the entire system described in a transparent accessible manner at an abstraction level which enables the developer, the network guy, the server guy, the storage guy, the architect and the security guy to have a meaningful conversation.
