Full disclosure: I‘m a Developer Evangelist for Contentful
A “Headless CMS” is one way to achieve what you’re looking to do. Contentful is one, there are others. Gatsby’s has source plugins for all popular ones.
They have a nice getting started guide for Gatsby + Contentful: https://www.gatsbyjs.org/docs/sourcing-from-contentful/ https://www.gatsbyjs.org/docs/sourcing-from-contentful/

- iliketocomplain 7y agoI don't get it: Afaik contentful is a company offering a paid for CMS API, but it isn't a piece of software I can run? But I must be wrong, or people wouldn't recommend this again and again when asked for a CMS. I'd love to try it, where can I find it? Wasn't able to find it on github, npm, Google.
