- privong 7y agoThe Mauna Kea site is a better one, in terms of observing conditions. It's higher, drier, has fewer cloudy nights, better atmospheric turbulence conditions, etc.
- phinnaeus 7y agoIt's also a place of immense cultural significance to the native population.
- IllogicalLogic 7y agoMaybe we can knock down the Vatican and build this telescope, since we are in the business of ignoring the local's wishes.
