Sometimes you want to have people behave in a way which reflects higher ideals than mere legality.
- weberc2 7y agoAs far as I'm aware, these "tribunals" are dealing with issues like rape and sexual assault, which are actually crimes. As far as I can tell, the generous interpretation for their foundation was that the legal system affords due process rights to the accused. The not very generous interpretation is that some powerful ideologues wanted a mechanism to discriminate against a particular protected demographic.
