It's been early on and recent as far as I know - if you watch the whole clip you'll see that, though they only show a second or two of the new clips. I would never teach kids to make fun of others. It's simply bad form.

- msbarnett 7y agoIs your complaint here that the writers of these segments didn’t use a time machine in order to determine that the regularly lampooned pop culture celebrity they were parodying would become president several decades later? Or that they did use a time machine and that this particular parody was politically motivated, unlike all their other celebrity parodies? Because they parody a lot of celebrities and always have.
- not_a_cop75 7y agoDo they negative parody others? Are any of the other parodies related to trash? Serious question.
- msbarnett 7y agoThey have an a long-running Oscar the Grouch CNN parody, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E893MS_HZlk https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E893MS_HZlk
- not_a_cop75 7y agoAs much as I dislike CNN, that's not exactly tasteful either.
- krapp 7y ago>I would never teach kids to make fun of others. It's simply bad form. You were clearly trying to accuse Sesame Street of making political propaganda against the current President Donald Trump, now you're packpedaling, because I'm guessing you never bothered to fact check. There is no clip in that video more recent than 2005, certainly no "second or two" of anything during his presidency thus far. According to every site I checked, including the Muppet Wiki, there is no Trump parody on Sesame Street more recent than 2004-2005. Quit your bullshit.
- not_a_cop75 7y agoI'm backpedaling by telling people to watch shows that treat people with respect??? I'm sorry to hear that you don't like to treat people with respect and respect my opinion at face value. Please, share with me how bullying others has personally benefited your life. Maybe having young people watch a kids' show that mocks others is okay for you. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2017/03/21/sesame-street-v-trump-shows-long-history-mocking-donald-grump/99445290/ https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/entertainthis/2017/03/21...
- bdamm 7y agoThat's hilarious. It's obviously about Trump as a mean-spirited real estate developer, which he is well documented to be. The character is lampooning heartless big business' effect on neighborhoods, a common American sentiment even today. I don't think the lesson is making fun of Trump, the lesson is on how to put structure in thinking around neighborhood upheaval, what can be done about it, and that maybe it isn't your parent's fault. This is stuff I would be happy to put in front of my child. Certainly better than Transformers and Paw Patrol, which like 90% of kids programming, is about using guns to solve your problems.
