I'm 54, nobody seems to be able to read text on my screen or phone but I like it just fine. It has gotten harder to focus at short distances (~20 cm and closer) but at normal reading distance I seem to have more acute eyesight than most. I make use of this by lowering the dpi setting on my screens which makes it possible to cram stuff on the screen (320 characters/ 4 side-by-side 80x24 terminals on a T42p (15" 1600x1200)).
