I haven't gotten around the paywall to read the article but the last stats from the US government I can find, 2017 show that aviation has reduced emissions 7.5 percent compared to 1990. Medium and heavy truck emissions are UP 89.5 percent in the same period but aviation is the crisis. Passenger cars up 20%.
