This is the argument about renewables as far as I'm concerned. Even if there was no such thing as climate change, long-term we still need to eventually move to renewables. We have all the non-renewables as the fuel to do so. We can't continue to waste them - once they are gone, you can't bootstrap a renewable energy system.
