I couldn't find info in the article about the whether LG (WebOS) Smart TV's still do this even if you opt-out of all the "Channel Plus" and other sketchy advertising/user-tracking features in the menu. I guess it's time to fire up Wireshark. I love these TV's because they can be integrated with home automation like Home Assistant. But maybe it's time to put it on a VLAN with no access to the WAN.
