    Except for the part of how the Steem token works, which basically means that built-in unmarked ads are needed for the economy to work.

      Yeah but that's kind of nitpicking. If you're looking for a "decentralized reddit" on blockchain, it's pretty hard to argue Steemit isn't this. There's others too. People are free to fork it and make a new platform. Most of the hard work is already done unless you want to change absolutely everything about it.
