I almost never restart Firefox, and having a pop-up nagging me to update sucks a lot. Sometimes I have to look at it for many weeks straight before Firefox eventually eats all the RAM and I have to restart it.
- diffeomorphism 7y agoClicking close and then clicking restore session takes 5 seconds or so. Why are you "almost never" restarting?
- Grue3 7y ago1. I have lots of tabs open. I don't want to wait for them to be reloaded. 2. Because of modern web design trends like infinite scrolling and overuse of javascript, reloading a page inevitably resets the content in it. 3. I also use tools like PgAdmin with web interface, which gets completely reset when the browser is restarted. 4. Restarting and installing a new Firefox version takes way longer than 5 seconds. 5. There's no reason for me to restart if there's no new version to update.
