I shouldn't even attempt to recap the story, but it's really interesting to look at how Bezos selected books. He wanted something with a lot of unique products/SKUs that was cheap enough for people to try buying online for the first time. Books and CDs were two of his front-runners. I wonder if back then he realistically considered the possibility that either or both could someday be delivered electronically?
