- conductr 7y agoLooks like you’re right. I’ve never heard it used that way. But where I am it’s just understood suburbs are built that way. Nobody calls it a McMansion. We have largest houses in the nation though (I believe). The term came into local use in urban areas (burbs of 50+ years ago) began getting massive houses that consumed every bit of the lot.
