If you have a complete power imbalance, that creates stability but only after a period where the more powerful country conquers the weaker countries.
If you have a state of balance that transitions to a stare of imbalance, that is tremendously destabilizing.
- solatic 7y agoSure, change is unstable. But there are better and worse ways to transition - i.e. the difference between a violent revolution and a bloodless coup (leaving aside for argument's sake the academic question of whether a bloodless coup is even realistically possible). It is not the fact of change which is objectionable, only the means.
