The other thing is that mainframes can be (and usually are) partitioned using software called PR/SM. It wouldn't be uncommon to have z/OS running in 1 partition

The other thing is that mainframes can be (and usually are) partitioned using software called PR/SM. It wouldn't be uncommon to have z/OS running in 1 partition and z/VM running in another.
