France and Germany are sovereign states, not businesses.
- a3n 7y agoThey claim to provide jobs, like any business. As for Libra, it's close to competition with "money," and they are restraining Libra from competing in the money business that the two countries are engaged in.
- bongobongo 7y ago^^^ this is what libertarianism does to the brain. It’s worse than early onset dementia.
- capableweb 7y agoThink this is less about liberalism (it doesn't argue for government to be run like a business) and more about US-inspired thinking where businesses are better than governments.
- Erlich_Bachman 7y agoNot arguing with the statement, but note to you: he said "libertarianism", not "liberalism". The two are obviously very different.
- capableweb 7y agoThank you, I did misread that part.
- a3n 7y agoWhich, to be clear, is an idea that I detest. But governments do hate competition.
- bongobongo 7y agoThis isn’t as insightful as you think. You’re tautologically describing the notion of sovereignty. Sovereignty is supreme power. Of course it abhors “competition.”
- bongobongo 7y agoLibertarianism is not the same thing as liberalism (classical nor modern).
