My mother in law has worn hearing aids for years and was recently convinced to upgrade to the latest greatest as she has to have her phone on speaker and has trouble hearing/understanding when she can't see the person, eg, not in the same room but shouting. S0 €5000 ($5500) later and still has phone on speaker and still can't hear at a distance.
