Intelligence agencies should not be permitted to launder their accountability and reputation through private contractors. By that I mean, when they inevitably do it you should call it what it is, not play along with their convenient fiction.
- amitport 7y agoDo you have any reason to believe that intelligence agencies are involved in the cases mentioned? Why would they? Please cite. Former workers are sometimes just that.
- partialrecall 7y agoCan you provide me with any reason to believe intelligence agencies don't use contractors, or don't use contractors who used to work for the agency in question? I doubt it.
- amitport 7y agoI have not said that intelligence agencies don't use contractors. You claimed that Israel's agencies had something to do with what the article above is discussing. You should provide evidence. (and no. The fact that former intelligence workers have roles in a related private company is not evidence of the country's involvement. Many companies employ or are managed by former intelligence workers. If you think they're all controlled by the Israel Mossad you should probably stop using firewalls/routers/CPU chipsets. Good luck)
- pnongrata 7y agoYou really should look into the Promis scandal, on how historically Intelligence agencies have used shady private entities in order to avoid public scrutiny. It's very didatic.
- amitport 7y agoYes. Shit happened in the world. There were actual conspiracies. That is not to say that everything that can't be disproven is true. (You're suggesting guilty until proven innocence logic) (You are welcome to worship the flying spaghetti monster until you can disprove its existence)
- pnongrata 7y agoI was pointing to an actual case of state intelligence working with private entities to achieve shady goals. It is well documented, not a "conspiracy". You are simply refusing to read the material I have already provided and indicated (as in the Promis "incident"). Try reading the article and checking its sources before making snarky remarks.
- amitport 7y agoYou should reread the thread. I never said that things like that could never happen. Just that there is no reason to believe that that's what happened now.
