We need to move to a 4 day work week, with 1 day of adult education. This way people get a chance to keep building their skills. Employers don't care about the worker; use them for 60hrs a week, fire them when no longer needed, pay minimum wage.
- AndrasL 7y agoI think something like this would be a huge improvement on the current system. I could also see 3 month alternations between school and work - so that the learning is more closely tied to the real world. (Even if many of the classes, e.g., philosophy, sociology, may not be directly applicable.)
- jeffdavis 7y agoI think the idea is a good one in some ways. But I can also imagine some bad outcomes, like dragging things out a long time, and being responsible to two masters.
