Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but this article suggests to perform training of DL models in production on the CPU?
Also why does the choice of language to specify my DL model matter that much if the low level number crunching is abstracted away anyway into a highly optimised component running on whatever processor / accelerator is most suitable?
- keymone 7y ago> why does the choice of language to specify my DL model matter that much because model specification is also code that needs to be amenable to change, tuning, refactoring. it needs to be expressive enough to test new ideas quickly without hassle. basically just list all the reasons that drove language design in past half a century.
- lonelappde 7y agoLanguage doesn't matter; just use linpack, right ;-) You can use any language you want as long as you do the real work in FORTRAN. Is TF the new linpack?
