I was wondering the same thing. My thought was that if there are enough GEODEs evenly distributed, they would account for it. My mental model of this is that if there were a lot of GEODEs created early, they explain acceleration (DE) with simple gravitational attraction. LET ME KNOW IF I'M CRAZY!
