I didn't sign up for Facebook until 2007 I think. It was only to keep in touch with friends from the military. Since then I've made friends with people that I know, but no one beyond that. So I don't fall into the trap that a lot of other people seem to fall into (including the author). That said, I think social media is something all of us can use a lot less of.
