Does this mean smaller cities are getting bluer?
- Fjolsvith 7y agoIf its a family that is moving, it likely is making them redder.
- ahnick 7y agoWhy do you say that?
- Fjolsvith 7y agoFamilies leaving are typically seeking a better place to raise children.
- fjabre 7y agoAnd recent grads a place that is affordable. All my friends from Los Angeles have moved to Texas and Florida (some are families) and they are all progressive like most in Californian major cities. So they will make those states more blue. Which goes against what youre saying. I fail to see why families from big cities would be red. Most in big cities are progressive, even families. I havent seen data that would suggest otherwise
- dd36 7y agoYes. See Phoenix.
- Mountain_Skies 7y agoIt likely has some effect though at the same time, it's much more difficult to see "them" as evil when you're neighbors, making everyone a bit more purple.
- tathougies 7y agoI really hope not or we will start to see the same problems in these small cities that liberal policies caused elsewhere creating an endless cycle of rich liberals migrating to conservative run higher quality of life cities and ruining them.
- bensonn 7y agoThe Idaho Statesman did a write-up a while back asking if Californians moving to Idaho would change the politics. What they figured is that it was mostly right-leaning Californians coming to Idaho. While it surely will change the politics I don't think it is guaranteed to become more blue.
