Book Review: The Uninhabitable Earth – David Wells
David does a good job of surveying the various thought streams about climate change. He reviews problems by topic (heat death, hunger, drowning, wildfire, dying oceans, etc), looking at how these might play out.
His view doesn't give much hope, so be prepared. Having spent a century creating this crisis, it seems unlikely that we will switch off carbon release today and reverse a century of generation in the next 30 years. The political inertia alone makes it unlikely.
A large portion of the book (about 1/3) involve notes listing his various sources. He has clearly done his homework.
I found his discussion of the Mann/Wainwright theory (Climate Leviathan) very interesting. I suggest reading the original source also. Are you in "team leviathan, team behemoth, team Mao, or team X?
