With Stallman's recent visit to Microsoft, I can't help but think that Windows Subsystem for Linux 1 would have been better named GNU / Windows.
With WSL 2, it is now GNU / Linux / Windows.
- zamadatix 7y agoThe subsystem was named after the thing it emulated the interfaces of not the software you can run inside of it (of which I wonder what % of the Ubuntu image is even GNU software anyways).
