ul = countable items in arbitrary order
ol = countable items in a pertinent sequence
dl = key value pairs
table = a matrix of three or more keys and values
- soulofmischief 7y agoMore mnemonically, ul = Unordered List ol = Ordered List dl = Definition List Definition List is the only description not immediately obvious, but understanding a definition as a key/value pair clears things up and isn't hard to remember.
- heavenlyblue 7y agoI believe if the parent bothered to look up any HTML documentation, the name of the elements would be obvious to them.
- thefifthsetpin 7y agoEvidently the w3c agreed with you, as in html5 made dl a backronym for "Description List"
- limograf 7y agoThose are the names of the elements for sure...
- soulofmischief 7y agoIt's also how one should remember it, instead of the definitions you provided. It's mnemonically designed.
