I think 2012 was around the time when smartphone cameras got really, really good. There was a tipping point where people stopped needing point and shoots and it looks like further down the line that might even have impacted DSLR sales, maybe.
- josephdviviano 7y agoYou can also see a massive jump leading up to 2012. Right now camera sales are still well above the basal rate established during the 70s, 80s, 90s. The camera isn't dead, it's just not being purchased by people who don't want to learn how to use them.
