This is such a lopsided disposable-society view of things. Has anyone considered the fact that perhaps more cameras are not being bought because the market is saturated? Take me for example: I have an Elan 7e, a 40D and a panasonic mirrorless. They all do the things I want to do well. Both the canons have been repaired at least twice (shutter replaced), the panasonic has been holding steady.
My sister is still using the Rebel II because that's good enough for her needs.
