Theory: they know something about AI that we don't and because of what they know, decoded to scare all the world's AI practitioners into getting their shit together at the same time. Alternate theory: they are idiots. Alternate theory number two: they know something about AI and a lot about nuclear doctrine that most people don't, and they are actually onto something...
