Seed oils and pesticides, how could that possibly be bad for your health?
- imglorp 7y agoThat's kind of a false dichotomy, because the animals eat that too, which means you eat it, plus you eat the steroids and antibiotics they're given.
- JoeAltmaier 7y agoThe animals actually digest it. So no, you don't eat it. You eat meat, which is obviously a different thing from seed oils.
- imglorp 7y agoNot true, for all compounds at least. Meat does indeed contain pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. We might not test for it, is a different problem. https://medium.com/center-for-biological-diversity/does-meat-contain-pesticides-c587f6b252e7 https://medium.com/center-for-biological-diversity/does-meat...
- avmich 7y agoThe argument was, I believe, against this - > the animals eat that too, which means you eat it It's not true in general, as some things animals eat get digested into other things and don't exist in the animals anymore. Their components do exists, but we don't consider atoms of meat the meat itself.
- rgrieselhuber 7y agoIts a moot point if you buy locally from farmers who raise their meat without pesticides and antibiotics. Factory farming is the real culprit in this whole discussion.
- fucking_tragedy 7y agoPesticides and other pollutants bioaccumulate. If they were easily metabolized, they wouldn't be much of a problem.
- coder4life 7y agoStuff accumulates the further up the food chain you go. Like mercury does in tuna.
- rgrieselhuber 7y agoNot the animals I buy.
