At best this attack used AI to create a text to speech engine whose output sounds the like the CEO in real-time. At worst it generated a number of pre-canned sentences that the scammers just replayed over the phone in the right order. There's nothing in this scam that implies the AI is in any way responsible for the actual content of the conversation.
