> “$200,000 worth of Tesla batteries, which collectively weigh over 20,000 pounds, are needed to store the energy equivalent of one barrel of oil”
> Battery production processes consume vast amounts of energy, with “the energy equivalent of about 100 barrels of oil” required “to fabricate a quantity of batteries that can store a single barrel of oil-equivalent energy”.
This seems dishonest. You only need to produce a battery once and it'll likely be useful for 10-20 years, then can be recycled to make new batteries. And if you have a green grid, it doesn't matter how much energy is required.
Further, yes, oil is an amazing energy source. I'm not sure what his point is. We still need to move away from it if we're at all interested in our environment (which I guess as a species we simply arent).
> And then there is the most sinister part: the solar craze is closely linked to the climate hysteria which, as I have showed separately, was invented by eugenicists, racists and Malthusians to wipe out India’s poor. The only beneficiaries of solar energy today are large companies who pay corrupt politicians to suck up solar subsidies.
I see now I've wasted my time.
