- perl4ever 7y agoI'd suggest that "watts per second" might just amount to a colloquial way of saying "watt-seconds". I mean, you have a number of watts "during" or "over" a second, so that is kind of "per" second. While yes, multiplying and dividing are opposites, and "per" generally means division, it seems to me there is a linguistic thing where polarities get switched or are just inferred from context.
