this is the correct solution ... its also what I have been using forever ... when I reformat a new laptop and launch Dropbox after it finishes a full sync I copy a file out of its dir which I execute on my local laptop which automates defining symlinks on my local filesystem pointing into Dropbox ... it just makes no sense to symlink out of Dropbox into the wild and wooly world at large ... symlinks should point into Dropbox not out
