Put the book on the table. Open Evernote (or similar) and start a new note. Put on the headphones and play the same title as audiobook. Set play speed at 2x. Read along. For every page read write down a summarizing sentence along with page number. Hearing, reading and writing helps memorize. After completing the book you will have a nice summary written in your own words that’s easy to recall if you need it in future. Haven’t tried with fiction books, but for non fiction works really well.
