I keep a very simple note with the parts of the text that are worth to remember in the future, separated by chapters, normally I update the list as long as I'm reading a chapter and then I review it at the end of it mostly to delete. After finishing the book I do another review simplifying the most important parts and then I add them to Anki. After that using SRS helps me to refresh the knowledge about the book.
