As a counterpoint, my VW in-car navigation integrates with the second screen, so I get glanceable navigation behind the steering wheel.
And, in Australia, it's very easy to lose mobile reception. Having usable maps on device is a must.
- a-wu 7y agoIn iOS 13, manufacturers will be able to integrate the second screen with CarPlay. Whether or not they will is too be seen.
- maccard 7y agoThat feature is my least favourite part of Android Auto - using it on the main display hides the navigation behind the steering wheel. I really hope this can be fixed.
- arethuza 7y agoThat's the main reason I still use built-in navigation rather than from my phone.
