I disagree that the field of Mathematics can be reduced to a definable game. Many recent breakthroughs have been a creative cross-pollination of mathematical fields...not that this will be totally off-limits to a sufficiently general AI. I didn't do much Math in college but my impression was that after you've learned the mechanics of calculus, algebra, etc., there's no obvious way to advance the field. Lots of "have people thought of things this way before" rather than crunch the numbers harder!!. Anyone with more training want to chime in?
