From that comment I was expecting to find an essay claiming to have the silver bullets because hand-waving. I was not disappointed. It even listed functional programming. Yes, the tech landscape of today is vastly different from 30 years ago. But to me the magical silver bullet is really an observation of recurring bullshit - a competent programmer would never realize the gains claimed.
