It would be a PR disaster for Apple to unveil a new iPad so soon after aggressively marking this original over the holiday season. When they dropped the original iPhone price, two months after launch, there was a huge backlash, and that was just over $200.
- bnycum 16y agoI wouldn't say they wouldn't do it. Apple has a long history of releasing products in January at the Macworld expo, but they've stopped attending as of last year. January of '06 saw the introduction of 2 Intel machines after their PowerPC versions were just updated in October of '05 (iMac, Powerbook/Macbook Pro). January '09 saw the upgrade of the MacBook from October '08. The current/first iPad was released in January '10, it's getting long in the tooth for an Apple product.
