While I agree with your thoughts on curbing high-skilled immigration, I'm curious as to why you think it's mainly Trump's fault and/or a new 'racist' policy? This sort of thing has been going on for a long time. Trump's deported fewer people than Obama [0]. I agree that this shouldn't be happening, but question both the accuracy and utility of blaming it on Trump. Maybe if we had a more correct diagnosis, we as hackers - as you say - could be a more effective force against this.
