I predict this will work itself out by TSMC paying some money to GF. The amount will have some some vague connection to the validity of the case and the mood of a judge.
- sharpneli 7y agoGF licensed 14nm from Samsung. My hunch is that they’re trying to get their hands on TSMC 7nm with cheap terms.

- bazooka_penguin 7y agoPretty sure IBM 7nm was functionally complete but they decided not to expand facilities to support it. Why would they do it for TSMC 7nm instead of, say, licensing something from samsung again?
