  It is not law, it is license terms, and while license terms between companies can be ridiculously complicated, license terms for consumers in most jurisdictions generally can't be enforced beyond the very basics. That is why the consumer technically doing the translation matters, they can't be bound by the inter-company license terms.

    Unless, of course, the technology is painted as circumvention measures under DMCA, and all AI research into speech-to-text becomes illegal overnight. *cries self to sleep that this is actually a possibility
