There’s usually an on-site account manager who hooks up the team in the US with either an offshore team or Indian coders that work for the contracting company who are already in the US. The interviews are a scam. You interview a person who seems decent but someone else will show up in their place. I had one interview where the person obviously wasn’t the one coding. He couldn’t actually describe what his code does. :) Typically management in these companies aren’t technical folks, and they have no idea what to look for.
