Leetcode covers data structures and patterns for efficiently using data structures. Most of the ‘puzzles’ could easily be isomorphisms for real life problems programmers encounter. I don’t think it’s a waste of time and it will make you a better programmer. The responsibilities you bring up are valid but meaningless if core concepts are neglected or misunderstood.
