Ask HN: Where is the difference between technology and politics?
Because I don't see any.
Don't you think it's all about decisions and how much common sense you actually put into the systems you build?
When people enrage here about how "political" technology discussions can get I don't understand their surprise.
We're talking about the lives of millions of people and how they are getting affected.
We're talking about power, and control.
That's the mains reasons why I see no point in censoring those topics, that are expressing more broadly the implications of the things happening.
Now,
What I'm asking for is to get your input about how we should design a due process to manage how far one can go in the usage of a discussion platform.
A due process yes, in comparison to the unilateral censorship decisions by a few unelected technocrats and a cast of old fat regulars sitting on their karma points, that would put a greater faith in the system.
Can you even imagine this or is it too hard to picture another way of running the business of structured discussions?
