They are two sides to the same coin but they are definitely different - think of an application with a good UI, now imagine if the business rules around doing things in the application were suddenly made convoluted - that's UX Good UI seems to be a "know it when I see it" but I'm not convinced a good UX exists yet (or even could exist?) otherwise all applications would use the same methodology
